Franz Abraham
Biography
Franz Abraham studied philosophy, graduated in business administration and was a successful professional motor racer. He founded ART CONCERTS in 1986 and since then the company has developed into one of the most innovative and successful promoters and producers of high class musical productions in the world. In the early years he arranged many concerts and tours for such artists as David Bowie, Swjatoslav Richter, Wynton Marsalis, Gidon Kremer, Plácido Domingo, Philip Glass and the Rolling Stones. In 1992, at the age of 28, he created the “ART PROJECT” in Munich (a project he took to Copenhagen in 1996). The Nord Deutscher Rundfunk called it “perhaps the most terrific music festival of all time”. In 1995 Franz Abraham became a pioneer in touring open air opera. Since 2001 he has focused almost entirely on his own musical theatre productions, producing work which is both commercial and of the highest artistic merit.
